Autodesk and reseller satisfaction polls

Autodesk and reseller satisfaction polls

Today I was asked to complete an Autodesk Reseller Satisfaction survey, which I was happy to do. My reseller does a good job. There was also a question about satisfaction with Autodesk.

I’ve shamelessly stolen Autodesk’s question and used it in a poll here. Please only respond if you are or were an Autodesk customer.

Customers - how would you rate your overall satisfaction with Autodesk?

  • 0 - Very dissatisfied (39%, 69 Votes)
  • 1 (6%, 11 Votes)
  • 2 (12%, 22 Votes)
  • 3 (11%, 19 Votes)
  • 4 (5%, 9 Votes)
  • 5 (4%, 8 Votes)
  • 6 (6%, 11 Votes)
  • 7 (7%, 13 Votes)
  • 8 (3%, 6 Votes)
  • 9 (2%, 3 Votes)
  • 10 - Very satisfied (4%, 7 Votes)

Total Voters: 178

Maybe I should complete the set and do polls for Autodesk and its resellers to rate their customers?

  1. Steve, I would be interested to see who is happy with civil3d, given that the whole civil side has had that forced on them to replace LDT. This latest attempt to force to rental is just the same thing all over, but there are companies still running 2009 and LDT. Not us luckily, we use something different than c3d so got off both but never has a software company so negatively impacted an industry by discontinuing a product. LDT had an external database which was lightweight easy sharing. C3D mixes xreffing with data sharing which is a total screw up because its heavy and fragile now. oh well.

  2. I visited again this am to look for new posts, and saw this poll again. While I do not like the business/marketing end of adesk, the technical people involved are doing great things. I would have given them a 10, despite the issues with dwg format like app ids and several other that have not been addressed. The api’s of adesk I use – lisp and .net, are just wonderful to work with. Maybe you could do a “technical” poll Steve, specifically on using autocad and its apis compared to other cad platforms like microstation. I had to work on ustn for a couple years and thought it was good also, but really missed the ability to make a quick lisp or other util as the object model was not so easy to work with.

    1. I deliberately used the same “overall” wording as Autodesk in this poll. I have enough polls running for now but might do something more specific in future. Thanks for the suggestion.

I agree that the APIs, particularly LISP, are AutoCAD’s strength. It was extremely perceptive of Bricsys to understand this (apparently more so than Autodesk) and put so much effort into API compatibility.
